Diesel's Army Sens Program

Ryan 'Diesel' Forbes - a young devoted father passed away on December 11, 2023 after a heroic battle with a rare and aggressive form of stage 4 appendix cancer. On January 13, 2023 he and his family were recognized at the Ottawa Senators vs. San Jose Sharks NHL Game.
Diesel faced his terminal diagnosis head on with bravery and courage, undergoing years of chemotherapy, radiation and surgeries both here in Ottawa and out of province - all while continuing to enjoy life, vowing to make every moment count with his daughter, his friends, his family and community. Despite his illness, he and his family continued to attend sporting events, doing what they loved and creating core memories until the very end.

The Forbes family will soon launch a Diesel's Army sport wish fund, continuing his legacy by providing incredible sport experiences to young families battling cancer.
Thanks to the Ottawa Senators and the generosity of Ottawa's Braatz family, one such family will enjoy each of their remaining home games this 2024-25 season. If you know a deserving young family facing cancer that would enjoy a Sens game, or another dream sport experience, nominate them today by providing their information at the following link.
