Sens Program

Diesel’s Army was established by the Forbes family in loving memory of Ryan ‘Diesel’ Forbes (1978–2023) from Kemptville, Ontario.

DIESELS ARMY SENS PROGRAM:

During Diesel’s cancer journey, he and his family found comfort and connection in moments spent together at Senators games, from the drive to the arena, to the laughter over popcorn, to the excitement of every goal, and the thrill of being part of something bigger. Those experiences became powerful reminders of resilience, love, and togetherness. Diesel’s Army continues Ryan’s legacy by delivering dream sports experiences to fans facing cancer. Through a generous donation from Diesel's close friends, Kyle and Rachel Braatz, one local family battling cancer is hosted at every Ottawa Senators home game for a night filled with joy and the little moments that mean so much. The Diesel's Army Sens Program encourages cancer fighters and their family to enjoy an evening out, to cheer, to laugh, and to make memories together. A Senators jersey is also provided at each game to the recipient, marked with "Diesel" on the back, representing Ryan’s nickname and the spirit of perseverance, kindness, and community that inspired Diesel’s Army. This program aims to bring a bit of joy, connection, and light to a tough journey.
