Diesel’s Army was established by the Forbes family in loving memory of Ryan ‘Diesel’ Forbes (1978–2023) from Kemptville, Ontario.

ABOUT THE DIESELS ARMY REDBLACKS PROGRAM:

During Diesel’s cancer journey, he and his family found comfort and connection in moments spent together at sports games, from the drive to the event, to the laughter over popcorn, to the excitement of every score, and the thrill of being part of something bigger. Those experiences became powerful reminders of resilience, love, and togetherness. Diesel’s Army continues Ryan’s legacy by delivering dream sports experiences to fans facing cancer. Through the Diesel's Army fundraising, one local family battling cancer is hosted at every Ottawa Redblacks home game for a night filled with joy and the little moments that mean so much. The Diesel's Army Redblacks Program encourages cancer fighters and their family to enjoy an afternoon or evening out, to cheer, to laugh, and to make memories together. A Redblacks jersey is also provided at each game to the recipient, marked with "Diesel" on the back, representing Ryan’s nickname and the spirit of perseverance, kindness, and community that inspired Diesel’s Army. This program aims to bring a bit of joy, connection, and light to a tough journey.
